The By Philippa Davies team are delighted to welcome you to our online gallery of photographic art, and limited-edition drawings by Philippa Davies, North Wales based visual artist and writer. Postgraduate biologist, and former lecturer, Philippa has always had a huge passion, and talent for and with words and pictures, and so she is really pleased to finally launch her own dream business, with the aim of ultimately having a local gallery and bookshop to visit in the future as well.
Philippa carries her camera everywhere with her, to capture life as it happens. She takes inspiration from anything that makes her smile, or makes her heart leap, in the environment around her and in nature, and every picture tells a story.
The positive impact, on us as people, achieved as a result of looking at beautiful and heart-warming pictures, and art, is significant, linked with our happy memories, our motivations, our hopes and our dreams. Studies have shown that this positive impact happens because the visual trigger from the picture causes the release of endorphins, the chemicals, known by some as happy hormones, from our brains, that help relieve pain, reduce stress and improve your sense of well-being. So, you could say that beautiful and happy pictures and art make our brains and hearts happy.
Through her photography and drawing, Philippa wants to pass on that smile and the feeling she had that drew her to take or draw the picture in the first place. So, whether you are looking for a piece of photography or art to make a change for you, your home, your workplace, or for your own customers and clients, to evoke that happy release in your own environment, we feel Philippa’s work offers something for everyone, from vibrant sunsets, to calming landscapes, happy memories, the wonder and curiosity of nature, and even inspiring man-made structures
